| This magnificent
part of Tuscany, with the city of Lucca, its surrounding
areas, hillsides of olive groves, vineyards and
acacia woods, is the setting of Villa Mori.
Immersed in the incomparably beautiful green countryside
and vineyards of Vicopelago, the area is also
prestigious due to its many 15th- and 16th-century
villas. Because of its charming landscape, Vicopelago,
together with Gattaiola, Meati and Pozzuolo, was
an area favoured by the nobles of the time for
building their country houses.
The Villa Mori, the dépendance and a farmhouse
now called the 'casa rossa ' (red house) stands
in a park of almost 8000 square metres, completely
enclosed by ancient surrounding walls. Situated
next to the entry gate on the south-west side
of the property, the farmhouse (now divided into
4 apartments) was built at the end of the 1700s,
probably for the Villa’s servants. The Villa
itself dates back to the 15th century and requires
complete renovation. |
